Mission/Philosophy

We pursue "constant upward standardization." We adhere to the principle of constantly raising standards, not lowering them. We emphasize physical excellence, ethical discipline, intellectual capacity, and, when necessary, a willingness to dedicate ourselves to our clients.

IBAKOREA History

Founded in 1957 in Paris, France, by General Lucien-Victor Ott, the IBA laid the foundation for modern security. In 2019, IBAKOREA was officially established, continuing the standardization program in Asia, aligned with the Italian headquarters' standards.

About IBA

The International Bodyguard Association (IBA) was founded in 1957 in Paris, France, by General Lucien-Victor Ott, a former officer and field commander of the French Airborne Special Forces, and is the world's first professional bodyguard organization.

The IBA is not simply an association; it is the starting point and parent organization of an international security system that has established standards for security, counter-terrorism, and protection that have been proven in conflict zones and diplomatic and security settings around the world.

At the same time, it is the first international bodyguard training institute to expand its training bases for professional bodyguards to each country.

Global standards proven in practice

For decades, the IBA has conducted practical security operations and missions in frontline locations around the world, including the Baltic States, the Balkans, throughout Europe, South Africa, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia.

In particular, since 2004, we have been providing advanced armed security and counter-terrorism security training to international organizations, governments, the military, and intelligence agencies of various countries, beyond general civilian security training.

The fact that the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the U.S. Army Special Forces, the FBI, the CIA, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), and police, navy, army special forces, and SWAT units from various countries have shared the IBA's education and training system shows that the IBA is an organization with practical, not theoretical, standards.

A lineage of security accumulated over 60 years

IBA's security technology and training system have been developed based on over 60 years of field experience, practical know-how from branches around the world, and case studies of responding to all types of man-made and natural crises.

Today, the training systems of many security professional organizations, multinational security associations, and federations are also based on the standards and philosophy of the IBA.

In this respect, IBA can be said to be the true prototype of the world's security standard.

IBAKOREA – Authenticity Continued in Asia

IBAKOREA, the official Korean branch of the International Bodyguard Association (IBA), established in 2021, is playing a role in carrying on and expanding the traditions and standards of the IBA, which began in Paris in 1957, in the Asian region.

IBAKOREA operates a standardized system for its curriculum, instructor system, and certification structure, based on the standards of the IBA headquarters (HQ) located in Italy.

This means that the entire training process, instructor qualifications, certification system, and operating principles are directly linked to the IBA headquarters standards, rather than simply using the name.
